The Kona low storms in March gave Feed My Sheep the chance to once again practice two of our key phrases: “We don’t have clients, we have friends;” and “We don’t get rained out, we get rained ON”. There were plenty of warnings that these storms would cause challenges, but to our staff and volunteers the needs and opportunities far outweighed the difficulty. So even as the storms pressed on for several weeks, Feed My Sheep was able to stay open every day except for one where high-winds and flooding made it dangerous to gather. This response was rooted in the great value our staff and volunteers have for our friends.
